Since 2014, Stratasys has supported Limbitless in its mission to empower people and improve accessibility through interdisciplinary collaboration, STEAM education, and assistive technologies. Using Stratasys’ additive manufacturing technology, Limbitless produced ready-to-use prosthetic components, 3D-printed molds for thermoformed cosmetic elements, and accelerated product development through rapid prototyping prior to injection molding production.

For many children, these prosthetics offer more than just functionality. They also boost self-confidence, encourage self-expression, and instill a sense of new possibilities. The partnership includes a dedicated Limbitless lab at the University of Central Florida. It is equipped with several Stratasys systems and enables students to gain hands-on experience with 3D printing, make a social impact, and develop practical engineering skills. “Stratasys has been by our side from the very beginning,” said Albert Manero, PhD, Executive Director and co-founder of Limbitless Solutions. “What began with a brief phone call during my graduate studies has evolved into a ten-year partnership. It demonstrates how additive manufacturing can have a tangible impact on the children we serve and on the future engineers and designers who are working to create a more accessible world.”This year, both organizations have placed a stronger emphasis on sustainability. Stratasys donated one of its F370 3D printers from the Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program to support ongoing operations, student training, and community outreach.

Mindful Manufacturing Drives Sustainability Forward

“This long-standing partnership exemplifies what Stratasys has to offer,” said Rosa Coblens, Vice President of Sustainability & Communications at Stratasys. “Through our Mindful Manufacturing approach, we’re advancing sustainability while supporting projects that have a tangible social impact. By refurbishing high-performance systems through our Certified Pre-Owned program, we not only reduce waste but also enable mission-driven organizations like Limbitless to expand their reach and support more people.”Stratasys’ Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program extends the lifespan of additive manufacturing systems through factory-certified refurbishment and reuse. By providing organizations with access to reliable, high-quality 3D printing technology, the program supports Stratasys’ commitment to circular manufacturing and resource efficiency.
