Agile Robots has, in collaboration with Nvidia, has unveiled the Agile One SN at Nvidia GTC. The compact humanoid robot, designed for research and development, is based on the Nvidia Isaac GR00T development platform. It offers developers and researchers an integrated system for developing, training, and validating humanoid robot capabilities in the lab. These capabilities can then be deployed in real-world environments.

"At Agile Robots, we quickly bring physical AI products from the lab to the industry," says Dr. Zhaopeng Chen, CEO and founder of Agile Robots. “Agile One SN provides research labs worldwide with a complete humanoid platform that’s ready for use from day one. Together with Nvidia, we’re helping them turn ideas into robotic capabilities faster and pave a clear path for those capabilities into the industry.”

Demand for versatile humanoids is growing rapidly. However, research teams continue to lose valuable time on integration: hardware, data acquisition, simulation, training, and deployment often rely on separate tools. Agile One SN brings these steps together in a single platform. This allows teams to spend less time on setup and test their developments in practice sooner.

The new robot system was developed to meet the needs of today’s research laboratories and to push the boundaries of Physical AI. Agile One SN is now the compact humanoid reference platform in Agile Robots’ humanoid portfolio. Agile One is designed as a human-sized humanoid for industrial applications. Capabilities and data developed on the Agile One SN can later be transferred to the Agile One.

Agile One SN builds on Agile Robots' many years of experience in research collaborations and was developed to advance research and development in the field of humanoid robotics. According to Agile Robots, leading institutions such as Stanford University and ETH Zurich have expressed interest in this project, according to Agile Robots.

A Fully Functional Humanoid Robot for Physical AI Research

Agile One SN combines a compact humanoid body with dexterous hands, multi-view sensors, and AI computing power. Its key features include:

  • Agile One S humanoid robot, 1.40 meters / 4.59 feet tall; 43 kilograms (including hands and wrist-mounted cameras) / 95 pounds
  • 31 degrees of freedom for human-like mobility (body)
  • Nvidia Jetson Thor as an onboard computer for real-time sensor processing and robot inference
  • Two tactile five-fingered hands from Wuji, each with 20 degrees of freedom, for a total of 71 degrees of freedom for the body and hands
  • Multi-view sensor system with RGB-D cameras on the head, wrist-mounted cameras for close-range manipulation, and 3D LiDAR
  • Full-body control with a joint torque of up to 140 Nm and a payload of up to 3 kg per arm
  • Connectivity via Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth, an emergency stop button, and other safety features

Preconfigured NVIDIA Isaac GR00T Software

Agile One SN ships with preconfigured Isaac GR00T software, including the open VLA model GR00T 1.7, the GR00T full-body control system, and the open, end-to-end GR00T reference workflow, which encompasses demonstration capture, data generation, simulation, training, evaluation, deployment, and field testing. Using URDF and USD assets, teams can import the robot directly into Nvidia Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab for simulation. Agile Robots is exploring the integration of the NVIDIA Halos safety platform to ensure safety across all critical levels of the humanoid platform, including design with NVIDIA IGX Thor, validation, and software.

The platform is open and modular. Teams can use the entire workflow or integrate selected components into their own stack. This makes it easier to share and compare research results across laboratories. Researchers retain full control over their data.

“Advancing humanoid robotics in research and development requires easy access to a complete, open hardware and software platform,” says Deepu Talla, Vice President of Robotics and Edge AI at Nvidia. “Agile One SN combines Nvidia Isaac GR00T and Jetson Thor into a single system that integrates demonstration capture, simulation, training, validation, and deployment, reducing integration effort and accelerating the development of humanoid capabilities for real-world deployment.” Agile One SN is expected to be available starting in early 2027.
