The brand has published further information on the planned comeback of the former Yugoslavian car brand Yugo. After initially presenting a design model in Munich in 2025, Yugo has now shown further concept stages and provided initial technical details at the SEE Automotive Conference in Belgrade. According to this, the first model will have a hybrid drive with range extender technology.

The drive should support various fuels and ideally only consume 0.6 gallons per 62 miles. Unlike plug-in hybrids, the system is designed to work without an external charging function. The combustion engine primarily serves as a generator to produce electricity. Yugo quotes a target price of around $13,000 USD. Visually, the new model remains true to the study shown in 2025. A compact three-door model with a clear design and sporty orientation is still planned.

The project is backed by Serbian entrepreneur Aleksandar Bjelić, who wants to position the brand as an affordable provider of efficient vehicles in the long term. According to earlier information, a ready-to-drive prototype is to be presented at the Expo in Belgrade in 2027. It remains to be seen whether this will actually become a production model.
