At AMB 2024, Zecha Hartmetall-Werkzeugfabrikation GmbH will demonstrate how maximum precision, outstanding quality both in the product and in manufacturing, and the highest productivity in micro-machining are achieved. With new developments and series expansions, innovative tool solutions are well provided for.

The optimized Peacock series sets new benchmarks for future challenges in hard machining. Thanks to the latest technology, it achieves significantly higher process reliability and extended tool life, especially in super-hard materials, making it ideal for use in powder steels. A standout feature of the optimized Peacock cutter is the reduced risk of chipping as well as uniform and minimal wear at the cutting edge. These improvements lead to a reduced tendency for breakouts, significantly enhancing the tool's reliability and lifespan. Overall, the new Peacock cutter offers an outstanding solution for machining super-hard materials, setting new standards in terms of surface quality and efficiency in machining technology.

The high-feed cutters of the Peacock series feature a new tool concept in the diameter range from 1 to 12 millimeters, supplementing Zecha's tool portfolio. This concept allows usage as a roughing tool that is ideally suited for machining large areas with shallow depths, as well as small disruptions and complex shapes. The performance of the Peacock high-feed cutter is particularly notable when machining steels in the hardness range of 58-65HRC, and it also shows excellent results with powder steels in the super-hard range. A crucial advantage over competitive products is the significantly lower spindle load this tool generates. This attribute makes it possible to equip smaller HSK spindles, such as HSK32, HSK40, and HSK50, with the Peacock high-feed cutter, significantly increasing flexibility and application possibilities. Another feature of the Peacock high-feed cutter is its high reliability: the cutting edges do not chip and wear occurs evenly, leading to a significantly reduced tendency for breakouts. These properties contribute to extended tool life and consistently high machining quality.

Zecha introduces the new Marlin 3D Laser Series, an innovative solution for machining ceramics and hard metals. This series employs the most advanced laser technology to provide crucial advantages and flexibility for producing highly precise, complex, and delicate 3D tool geometries. This novel series revolutionizes tool design and enhances efficiency. The Marlin 3D Laser Series was specifically developed for more demanding applications and features a large number of teeth. The precise and fine geometry of the cutting tools significantly reduces cutting forces during the machining process. This reduction in heat generation consequently increases tool life, positively impacting the overall process reliability. The precise tuning of the geometry achieves higher efficiency, which is reflected in excellent edge formation, accurate dimensions and shapes, and outstanding surface quality of the component.

The use of coolant from the shaft cooling channels achieves targeted and uniform placement at the tool edges even at high rotational speeds. Thanks to intense cooling lubrication, friction and tool wear are minimized, while tool life, surface quality, and productivity are increased.
