Bosch, as it has been reported, plans to start producing innovative robots next year in collaboration with the British company Humanoid. These robots are intended to be modeled after the human body. The production of humanoid robots—referred to as Humanoids—is set to begin in Bühl (Germany) in the Black Forest. The world's largest automotive supplier will thus become a contract manufacturer. However, Bosch is currently not providing any details about quantities or employees. This marks the first time that Bosch is producing such innovative AI-controlled robots, which are considered a promising business for the future. Initially, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung reported on this.

Schaeffler Is Set to Become the First Customer for Humanoids

If one considers the design of the humanoids planned by Bosch, they resemble the human body with a head, arms, hands, and legs. A Bosch spokesperson further stated that they are also examining whether the integration of Bosch systems—including actuators, motors, sensors, and other components—can be considered. The robots are being developed by the startup from London. Bosch only partnered with Humanoid this year. The Frankish automotive supplier Schaeffler from Herzogenaurach (Germany) is expected to be among the first customers for the humanoid robots from Bühl, intending to use them in its production, the report further stated. The British company has reportedly entered into partnerships with both Bosch and Schaeffler. Both are also investors in Humanoid.

Humanoid Robots Are Considered an Economic Goldmine

The market for humanoid robots is still in its infancy, but experts see great potential for the smart machines in the long term. They are initially expected to be used in factories and logistics. Later, however, they could also be employed in healthcare and even as household assistants. Currently, leaders in the development of humanoids are primarily players from China and the USA. In Germany, the manufacturer Neura Robotics is known for this. According to its own statements, Neura has a current order backlog and a strategic development pipeline worth over one billion dollars.
