Neura Robotics (Neura) from Metzingen has now announced that it has raised a maximum of 1.4 billion dollars. Incidentally, the financing round is one of the largest ever in Germany, as is emphasized. Among other things, Neura plans to use the fresh capital to expand series production to several million robots by 2030. The backers include well-known companies from the technology and industrial sectors— including the crypto company Tether, the chip companies Qualcomm and Nvidia and even Amazon. The Middle Franconian automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler and the technology group Bosch are also among them and are already cooperating closely with them. The European Investment Bank is also involved. It was not possible to find out how much money the individual investors are contributing to the round and how much has already been raised.

Humanoid Robots Will Be Able to Help Us Everywhere

Neura founder David Reger believes that the future of artificial intelligence (AI) will not simply take place on screens. On the contrary! It will move, interact, learn and work alongside humans in the real world. Neura is developing humanoid robots that can see and hear, so to speak, and have a sense of touch—the latter thanks to Bosch sensors. The vision is for them to be used in industry or in households, for example. Neura has a current order backlog and strategic development pipeline of over one billion dollars. Reger also said that in future, people will no longer just ask what AI can tell them. In his opinion, they will rather ask what AI can physically do. Automation with the help of humanoid robots is still in its infancy, but is seen as a lucrative future market.
