In Two Steps, the Laser Machine is Slag-Free

The Trutool TSC 200 removes slag from the support table of the laser cutting machine through a roughing and finishing process. The movements are tailored to the patented geometry of the cleaning tool. Specifically, the tools positioned to the left and right of the slats to be cleaned feature two serrated and two continuous cutting edges each. The serrated edge breaks up the slag, while the continuous edge essentially scrapes it off, as Trumpf explains. This process occurs continuously (around 25 times per second), allowing a Hofele employee to typically clean all 60 support slats of the two × four-meter palette in about one hour. However, the actual cleaning speed largely depends on the slag thickness, which should not exceed 25 millimeters (approx. 0.98 inches). Additionally, the optional feed support mounted on the slat cleaner provides extra assistance at Hofele.

Rollers and Handles Make Handling Easier

Important for the high performance of the Trutool TSC 200, in addition to the roughing-finishing cleaning process, is the powerful motor with 1,700 watts of output and the adapted gearbox that protects the motor from overload. These two drive components are housed in separate chambers, ensuring that neither slag nor unwanted dust particles can enter the system, even without additional seals. To simplify handling, a plastic handle ensures that the machine can be comfortably placed on the palette to be cleaned. With the help of an aluminum grip bar—with an optional extension—it can also be moved effortlessly across the entire width of the bed. High-quality plastic transport rollers make it easy to transport the slat cleaner to the laser cutting machine without effort. Furthermore, the rollers do not need to be removed during the cleaning process. A specially designed sliding plate ensures that the TSC 200 moves over the slats with minimal resistance.
