The system integrator Nucleus Robotics is relying on Igus’s RBTX robotics marketplace to build one of the largest fleets of humanoid robots for intralogistics to date. The companies are working together to advance the scaling of humanoid robotics in the industry.

The field of humanoid robotics is currently evolving so rapidly that many companies find it difficult to keep track of developments and select the right system for their specific application. “There are hundreds of humanoid manufacturers worldwide, so many decision-makers can no longer see the forest for the trees,” says Alexander Mühlens, head of the Low-Cost Automation division at Igus and co-founder of RBTX.

Marketplace for Humanoid Robots

Igus offers an overview and expert support in the selection process through RBTX, one of the world’s largest marketplaces for humanoid robots. Alexander Mühlens: “Through RBTX, we want to help customers navigate the growing range of options and find the right solution across different manufacturers. We see ourselves as a neutral guide throughout the entire journey toward functional automation: from the initial idea through testing to commissioning. Our experience from current pilot projects with customers and partners shows that humanoid robotics is increasingly evolving from a demonstrator into a scalable solution.”

The collaboration with Nucleus Robotics demonstrates how this transition from a pilot project to fleet deployment can be achieved. The startup has decided to procure up to 100 humanoid robots through Igus’s RBTX marketplace. Founded in 2026 and based in Gütersloh (Germany), the company has set itself the goal of getting the robots into fleet use in intralogistics as quickly as possible.

Robots Take the Burden Off People

To do this, the experts create 3D models of factories, run simulations, and finally commission the humanoids on-site. A proprietary AI-based software called Nucleus AI handles model training and real-time monitoring. This allows robots to take over physically demanding routine tasks in intralogistics for humans, such as picking orders, transporting goods, or supplying packaging stations in e-commerce warehouses. In retail, such as in drugstores, they can also be used for tasks like restocking store shelves.

“To deploy humanoid robots cost-effectively in production and logistics processes, companies today need not only high-performance hardware, but above all, fast and scalable integration into existing workflows,” said Melvin Schwarz, CEO of Nucleus Robotics. “Through RBTX, we have access to a wide range of humanoid systems and can select the right solution for each specific application. We aim to further develop humanoid robots into an economically scalable solution for everyday use in warehousing, logistics, and retail.”

Moving Faster from Pilot Project to Everyday Practice

Julian Ruwe, Team Leader of Internal Sales at RBTX, adds: “Through RBTX, we bring the right robots, our integration expertise, and our robotics network to the project, while Nucleus Robotics has a deep understanding of intralogistics processes. The Nucleus Robotics fleet is an important step toward gaining practical experience and accelerating the transition of humanoid robotics from individual pilot applications to everyday industrial use.”

The ability to test different humanoid robots under real-world conditions is a valuable advantage

RBTX’s goal is to support small and medium-sized enterprises in particular in selecting, testing, and integrating suitable humanoid systems. The platform is therefore not only a marketplace for what are now 95 models from 35 manufacturers, but also a service hub for consulting and integration. Interested parties can compare robots, test them live, and find integration partners to put the solution into operation.

“Many companies start out with open-ended questions. That’s why the ability to test different humanoid robots under real-world conditions is a valuable advantage,” says Alexander Mühlens. Since many projects are still in their early stages, Igus also relies on flexible business models. Users can purchase robots in the traditional way, but can also rent them if needed to test the systems over a longer period of time.
