Schaeffler collaborates for the first time with the Chinese company Leju Robotics to develop humanoid robots for industrial applications and expand its global partner network.

Schaeffler has entered into a partnership with Leju Robotics Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese technology company specializing in humanoid robotics. Alongside existing partnerships with renowned manufacturers in Europe and the U.S., this is the first collaboration with a Chinese company and an important step for Schaeffler to expand its presence in the global humanoid ecosystem.

The goal of the collaboration is to advance the use of humanoid robots in industrial applications such as intelligent factory inspection, support for equipment operation, logistics, and human-robot collaboration. By 2035, Schaeffler plans to integrate a mid-four-digit number of humanoids into its production.

Schaeffler supplies key components for humanoid robots. The portfolio ranges from rolling bearings, ball screws, and precision gears to motors and sensors, as well as thermal and battery management. This allows Schaeffler to meet all requirements for actuation, sensing, motion control, and energy management. This is complemented by Schaeffler's expertise in twelve core manufacturing technologies—from metalworking to additive manufacturing. This combination creates ideal conditions for merging proven industrial processes with state-of-the-art robotics and developing series-ready solutions.
