Dassault Systèmes and Omron have partnered to advance industrial manufacturing by integrating virtual and real systems. According to a press release, the cooperation aims to close the gap between IT and OT and replace fragmented production landscapes with AI-supported, software-defined approaches.

The core of the collaboration is the linking of Dassault Systèmes' 3D Experience platform with Omron's Sysmac automation platform. This enables manufacturers to plan, simulate and validate production systems digitally from end to end before they are physically implemented. The use of virtual twins makes it possible to test production lines, robot behavior and material flows in advance, thereby reducing commissioning times, error rates and costs.

Added value is also created during operation: real-time data from sensors, controllers and robots flows back into the virtual models. This allows continuous comparison between simulation and reality, targeted optimization and predictive maintenance. The aim is adaptive production that adapts dynamically to changing requirements.
