At AMB 2026, Kyocera Unimerco will present its solutions designed to help manufacturers overcome key production challenges, including rising productivity demands, increasing cost pressures, and the need for greater process transparency. Kyocera is focusing on applications for the automotive industry, fluid technology, and mechanical engineering, combining its expertise in machining with intelligent tool management and advanced coating technologies.

Support for the Transformation of Automotive Manufacturing

A key focus is the transformation of automotive production. As automakers increasingly use large structural castings and continue to expand high-volume production, the demands on productivity, precision, and cost control are constantly rising. These developments place growing demands on machining performance, tool life, and process stability throughout the entire production process. Kyocera Unimerco presents its tooling concepts, which were developed to support these evolving production requirements and to enhance performance in demanding machining environments.

New Drill and Reamer for More Efficient Drilling Operations

Kyocera is introducing its new drill and reamer for the manufacturing industry. This is a new combination tool that combines drilling and reaming in a single operation. The solution was developed to produce holes with an H7 tolerance in selected grades of steel and cast iron under defined machining conditions. Developed as an alternative to specialized drilling and reaming tools, the drill and reamer helps manufacturers reduce tool complexity, shorten cycle times, and improve process reliability.

Other tool innovations on display at AMB 2026:

1. KGX Piercing Tool Series

The KGX grooving and parting-off tool was developed to improve machining accuracy, tool life, and productivity, and features an innovative clamping design that reduces movement and wear of the cutting inserts. A unified cutting insert platform for external, internal, and face grooving applications simplifies tool management, while improved chip evacuation ensures consistent machining performance.

2. ME90 Spiral Milling Cutter

The ME90 was developed specifically for titanium alloys and other difficult-to-machine materials and combines a robust tool body, advanced insert geometry, and the PM335S grade. Thanks to double-sided inserts with eight cutting edges, high productivity and a cost-effective service life are guaranteed.

3. MG90B Groove Cutter

The MG90B was developed for highly efficient grooving operations and combines stable clamping of the indexable inserts, reduced cutting forces, and six-edge indexable inserts. Large chip chambers and an offset arrangement of the indexable inserts ensure reliable chip evacuation and efficient material removal.

4. Alternative Tool Concepts

To help manufacturers reduce their reliance on specialized solid carbide solutions, Kyocera Unimerco is introducing the “MFH Micro” high-feed milling cutter and the “DRA MagicDrill” core drill series, Kyocera Unimerco is also introducing high-performance cermet grades for fine machining. These solutions offer the potential to reduce tooling costs while delivering high cutting performance.

In addition to its machining solutions, Kyocera Unimerco is showcasing its CC945 intelligent tool management solution, which provides greater transparency in tool operations and enables efficient inventory management, tool availability, and workflow optimization. By providing a better overview of the entire tool lifecycle, the system helps manufacturers improve control over their production resources and reduce operational inefficiencies.

In addition, Kyocera expanded its capabilities through the integration of Weber Technologies into the Kyocera Unimerco Group in 2025. Weber Technologies specializes in CVD diamond coatings for aluminum, CFRP, graphite, and ceramics, and its technologies improve tool performance, wear resistance, and process reliability in demanding machining applications. At the Kyocera booth, experts from Weber Technologies will be happy to answer questions about application-specific coating solutions and manufacturing requirements.
