Robot System High Precision and Extremely Smooth
An industrial robot with a gripper handles rims in a painting system by Eisenmann. The previously used pneumatic drive technology proved to be inefficient. Now, the machine builder relies on a system from Stöber consisting of synchronous servo gear motors, cables, and matching drive controllers.
"Our robotic system can even pick up a raw egg so gently that it doesn't get damaged," says Peter Butz, product developer at Eisenmann GmbH in Böblingen. This highlights how delicately the system can be regulated. In fact, it performs demanding industrial tasks: instead of handling eggs, the robot grabs rims of various sizes and weights and guides them to a painting system. In addition to industrial painting and handling systems, the machinery manufacturer also develops driverless transport systems as well as technologies for pretreatment and filtration.
