According to Siemens, the "Eigen Engineering Agent" is one of the first commercially available AI systems capable of planning and independently executing complex technical tasks in industrial automation.

Eigen Automates Repetitive Tasks

While AI tools and co-pilots generate suggestions, the "Eigen Engineering Agent" operates within real technical systems and takes over the planning, execution, and validation of tasks from start to finish. It understands its projects, writes automation code, configures systems, and optimizes them until all predefined performance specifications are met. By automating recurring tasks and delivering validated, immediately usable results, engineers can focus on more impactful, cross-system challenges.

Compared to manual workflows, Eigen enables execution that is two to five times faster without compromising accuracy or reliability. Additionally, the solution increases overall quality by up to 80 percent and boosts engineering efficiency by up to 50 percent.

From the Challenge to a Dialog-Oriented Workflow

Successful test runs at more than 100 companies in 19 countries show: The "Eigen Engineering Agent" demonstrably accelerates common engineering tasks such as programmable logic control (PLC), visualization of human-machine interfaces (HMI) and device configuration. Customers in the pilot phase included the Austrian company Andritz Metals, the Chinese company CASMT and the US company Prism Systems.
