Beijing is requiring its automakers to engage in fair competition abroad: cutthroat pricing and discount wars are to be off-limits. In 2025, China exported more than eight million vehicles worldwide.
China's automakers are expected to conduct themselves appropriately abroad. The government in Beijing has provided them with a code of conduct for their expansion into global markets. Cutthroat pricing, discount wars, and other practices common in the domestic market should not be exported.
