Among other things, the high-performance bandsaw machine Kastossb will be presented to the professional audience for the first time at AMB 2026, as Kasto emphasizes. This modern saw is therefore also the focus of the trade fair appearance. The bandsaw, described as universal, is based on the proven bandsaw machine Kastossb A2, but with the new model, Kasto takes it a step further: the saw is more compact, user-friendly, and even more versatile. It is considered perfectly suited for all-round metalworking. Also on display are the automatic Kastowin, ideal for various components, and the Kastotec, designed for large components made of demanding materials. Live demonstrations add to the experience.

The Improvements to the New Kastossb are as Follows:

A significant improvement is the switch to an electromechanical saw feed. This features a demand-driven hydraulic system that replaces continuous hydraulic operation, as stated. The resulting reduced energy consumption increases energy efficiency and also lowers noise levels, thereby relieving employees. Additional advantages are offered by the specially designed swing doors at the rear of the machine, according to Kasto. These reduce the space requirements while providing convenient access for operation and maintenance tasks. Furthermore, the chip conveyor can now be mounted on either the left or right side. This allows the machine to be better adapted to spatial conditions and different hall layouts. Depending on the configuration (left or right), the installation space is also reduced by more than half a meter (up to 600 millimeters / approx. 23.6 inches). The saw reliably cuts pipes and profiles, handling materials ranging from construction steel to difficult-to-machine alloys. It also performs bundle cuts and cuts semi-finished carbide products.

Another AMB Highlight Fits Well with the New Saw

The Kastossb, showcased for the first time at AMB, can also be seamlessly integrated into Kasto's second trade fair highlight! This refers to the Kastocenter Compact, which the company from Achern highlights as an innovative overall concept for automated sawing, storage, and material flow processes in the smallest possible space. The compact sawing center combines tower storage, robot-assisted loading and unloading, the saw, and subsequent processing steps into a seamless system from a single source. This delivers an efficiently interconnected, flexibly configurable, and 24/7-capable process chain with minimal space requirements. The overall package, also presented for the first time at AMB, offers a forward-looking automation system with its compact yet modular design—especially for medium-sized companies.

The Latest Procontrol System Makes Sawing Even Easier

With the newly updated Kasto-Procontrol system, sawing becomes even more efficient, intuitive, and therefore more transparent, as stated. The optimized control system supports operators in their daily work, simplifies processes, and provides greater clarity at the machine. The system displays the current machine status on a clear dashboard, guides users through the process with short response times, and, with the new Simple Mode, offers less experienced users a safe introduction to modern sawing, according to Kasto. Features such as a material library, cutting plan, and "smart" cut optimization not only save time but also material. Additionally, diagnostic and analysis tools help to identify disruptions more quickly and minimize downtime. While the new control generation initially launched with the Kastowin series, it is now also the core of the new Kastossb. Kasto also plans to extend the system to other types of saws.
