Details on the introduction of the Tesla Semi electric truck, as well as technical specifications, will be shared at the IAA Commercial Vehicles show in Hannover, as announced by the automaker led by tech billionaire Elon Musk on the platform X. The trade fair will take place from September 15 to 20, with a press day preceding it on September 14. While Tesla's semi-truck was first unveiled in 2017 and initially scheduled for production in 2019, the launch was repeatedly delayed—citing reasons such as the need for batteries to be prioritized for cars like the bestseller Model 3. However, mass production finally began this April in the U.S. state of Nevada. In the U.S., initial Tesla trucks have already been delivered to customers like beverage and snack giant Pepsico. Tesla estimates a range of up to 800 kilometers per battery charge for the Semi. In Europe, the semi-truck would compete with already available rival trucks from European manufacturers. Tesla had also showcased the Semi at the IAA Commercial Vehicles show two years ago.
