Easily Cut Linear Guides Using Hole Pattern Recognition

Kasto's appearance at AMB also includes demonstrating that the previously manual measurement and positioning steps for cutting linear guides and profile rails can be significantly simplified and automated using a camera-based process. According to the description, the system captures the drilling pattern directly in the circular saw, determines the exact cutting position from it, and then executes the cut process reliably. Users benefit from fewer manual interventions, higher repeat accuracy, and more standardized processes. This pays off particularly with a high variety of variants and increasing demands for quality and reproducibility. In the future, the process could also be combined with additional automation steps, such as feeding, storage technology, material flow, or the sorting of sawn parts.

Kasto Points to Good Opportunities in Terms of Investment Support

Investments in modern, energy-efficient Kasto sawing technology currently have good chances of receiving government support in many cases, as can be learned. The systems provide important prerequisites for this—for example, energy-efficient drives, "smart" control technology, efficient cutting processes, reduced idle times, and resource-conserving operation. Especially for replacement investments or modernization efforts in existing production areas, an early funding review is worthwhile.
