RUD: Simplifying the attachment of loads

At AMB, RUD is showcasing two new products, the PIP-Rapido plug-in attachment point and the CCS-Fastlox clickable shackle, both of which are designed with an innovative functional principle to significantly simplify and speed up the attachment of loads.

The robust CCS-Fastlox can be installed completely without tools compared to conventional screwable clevis shackles—thus, no screws, nuts, or pins are needed. For assembly, the pin is simply pushed through the shackle and automatically held in position by snapping into a locking mechanism located on the side. According to the manufacturer, users achieve time savings of up to 80 percent in assembly and disassembly. The CCS-Fastlox will be available from mid-September 2024 in grade classes 12 (ICE) and 10 (VIP), and it comes in nominal sizes ranging from 4 to 16 (ICE) and 6 to 22 (VIP).

An application possibility in combination with the CCS-Fastlox is the new plug-in anchorage point PIP-Rapido with a self-securing fastening mechanism. It was developed as a supplement to screwable and weldable anchorage points and is particularly intended for uncomplicated assembly on through-holes—such as flanges—and holes with undercuts. For fastening, the locking elements on the locking pin are unlocked, and the pin is inserted into the through-hole. Once the pin is in position, the locking mechanism automatically engages, thus enabling a secure connection between the load and the anchorage point.

This mechanism allows the PIP-Rapido to be attached much faster than conventional screwable anchorage points. Additionally, it is also suitable for scenarios where a screwable anchorage point would be inappropriate, such as when a nut cannot be affixed from the bottom. The new PIP-Rapido will be available from early October 2024 in various diameters and lengths.
