The Aluminum Profiles Now "Know" Where They Belong

According to Kasto, material flow is no coincidence. For profiles to arrive exactly where they are needed, a system that essentially thinks ahead is required. The Kastofenestra align system can effectively take on this role. As a central circulation station for storing and retrieving profile material, it keeps processes moving—safely, precisely, and without unnecessary stops, as Kasto emphasizes. Even when placing racks for customers, the difference is already noticeable: an integrated horizontal centering aid at a height of two to three meters automatically positions the rack correctly, it is said. The forklift driver sets it down—without maneuvering or corrections—quickly, with repeat accuracy, and stress-free, as described. Storage is carried out either manually via a positioning stop or automated using a manipulator.

Two Cassette Slots Eliminate Waiting Times

Hydraulic lifts then take over, gently lowering the customer rack into the cassette until it sits precisely in place. To ensure the material flow doesn’t come to a halt, Kastofenestra align is equipped with two cassette slots. While racks or packages are being stored, the next slot is already prepared. This eliminates waiting times altogether. The station is individually tailored to the customer’s existing racks and integrates seamlessly into established intralogistics processes. Wherever profiles of varying lengths and geometries need to be efficiently picked, made available, and stored or retrieved, Kastofenestra systems provide organization and speed. The honeycomb storage systems serve as the foundation.

Proximity to the Customer Remains Crucial

For TIR Technologies, technical expertise and practical systems were the focus of the collaboration—how could it be otherwise? Kasto implemented the requirements with individually designed systems and a clearly structured project approach. Planning and commissioning were also coordinated and carried out in close communication between the two companies, it is said. An additional advantage proved to be the proximity, as the Kasto plant in Achern is only about a 30-minute drive from Kilstett. This allows technical questions to be addressed at short notice and coordination to be conducted more efficiently. The two Kasto systems now form the foundation of a well-thought-out, holistic logistics concept at TIR Technologies. Material flows are specifically managed, bottlenecks are avoided, and processes are efficiently organized.
