The global demand for industrial robots remains high: according to the 2025 World Robotics Report by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), around 542,000 new robots were installed in 2024. This is more than twice as many as ten years ago, according to a statement. For the fourth consecutive year, the industry exceeded the 500,000-unit mark. The global operational stock reached a new record high of 4.66 million robots, an increase of 9% compared to the previous year.

Asia continues to hold the largest share with 74% of all new installations, while Europe accounts for 16% and the Americas for 9%. China remains the undisputed leading market with a 54% share: 295,000 new robots were installed there—a global record. Remarkably, Chinese manufacturers sold more robots domestically than foreign competitors for the first time.

Japan claimed second place with 44,500 units, followed by South Korea (30,600) and India, which climbed to sixth place in the global rankings with 9,100 new robots and 7% growth.

In Europe, the number of installations dropped by 8% to 85,000 but remained at a high level. Germany remains Europe's largest market with 27,000 units and ranks fifth globally. In the Americas, installations totaled 50,100 units, with the USA accounting for 68% of the volume.

Despite geopolitical uncertainties, the outlook remains positive: For 2025, the IFR expects a 6% increase in global installations to 575,000 units. By 2028, the 700,000 mark could be reached.
