Neura Robotics takes over the autonomous transport system Active Shuttle from Bosch Rexroth with effect from October 1, 2026. The acquisition expands the portfolio of the subsidiary Neura Mobile Robots and is, according to the company, another step in building a European ecosystem for so-called Physical AI—that is, physically embodied artificial intelligence in robotic systems.

According to Neura, the Active Shuttle has established itself in numerous industrial companies as a solution for automated material transport, ranging from supplying assembly workstations to transporting small load carriers. Neura Mobile Robots takes over both the hardware and software of the platform and will also offer the service for it to customers in the future. Bosch Rexroth and Neura Mobile Robots have jointly prepared the handover to ensure a smooth transition for existing customers.

Step-By-Step Integration into the AI Platform

Neura plans to expand the Active Shuttle in the future with AI functions and interfaces to its own technologies. Proven components such as the ACTIVE Fleet Manager and the ROKIT navigation software will be retained. In the long term, the navigation and fleet management technologies are also expected to become accessible via the so-called Neuraverse—a platform where, according to the company, robots can exchange and further develop their skills.

“We are gaining another strong platform that has proven itself in industrial use. For existing customers, continuity, service, and investment security are the top priorities,” said Andreas Lindemann, Managing Director of Neura Mobile Robots GmbH.

Part of a Larger Ecosystem Strategy

According to Neura, the integration is part of an overarching corporate strategy: mobile platforms, industrial robots, and humanoid robots should be able to work together on a common Physical-AI infrastructure in the future. "Our goal is an open ecosystem in which mobile robots, industrial robots, and humanoids can work together on a shared infrastructure," said Neura founder and CEO David Reger.

Neura Mobile Robots, operating under the established brand ek robotics, employs more than 300 people at locations in Hamburg (Germany), Reutlingen, Milan, Prague, and Buckingham, according to the company. The company has been part of the Neura Group since 2025, which was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in Metzingen, Baden-Württemberg (Germany).
