The Bavarian car manufacturer BMW reports slightly lower profits for the current year. Due to weak sales in China and a tariff reduction not yet reflected in the books, the earnings before interest and taxes are now expected to settle between five and six percent, instead of the previously anticipated range of five to seven percent. The sales development in China was weaker than expected in the third quarter. As a result, the BMW Group also adjusted its expectations for the fourth quarter in this important market. Additionally, financial support for dealers in China is required, according to the company. Furthermore, it is anticipated that tariff refunds in the high three-digit million range from U.S. and German customs authorities will not be accounted for this year but only in 2026. This, in particular, negatively impacts the free cash flow, whose forecast BMW has significantly reduced.
