In the first half of 2026, Steyr Motors achieved a group revenue of 22.8 million euros (approx. 25 million USD), roughly on par with the same period the previous year. Adjusted EBIT amounted to 0.1 million euros (approx. 110,000 USD) (with an EBIT margin of 0.4 percent). Business development was primarily affected by delays in international defense and marine projects. The causes were particularly delayed public procurement, approval, and acceptance processes. As a result, planned revenues of around ten million euros (approx. 11 million USD) could not be realized in the first half of the year. However, the affected projects remain part of Steyr Motors' strong project pipeline and confirm the consistently high demand from core markets, so revenue realization is deferred to subsequent reporting periods. Against this background, the expectations for the full year have been adjusted, and possible further delays have already been conservatively accounted for. Steyr Motors now expects revenue growth of between 15 and 25 percent for 2026 compared to the previous year. At the same time, the management board anticipates an EBIT margin of eight to twelve percent.

The Second Half of the Year Brings More Revenue for Steyr Motors

While the defense segment, with 9.4 million euros (approx. 10.3 million USD), fell short of expectations despite the global defense boom, the civil business developed positively in the first half of 2026, increasing Steyr Motors' revenue to 13.4 million euros (approx. 14.7 million USD). With the acquisition of Danish marine engine manufacturer Bukh A/S and the introduction of a new holding structure, Steyr Motors also took important steps in the first half toward implementing its long-term growth strategy. The core of the positive growth prospects is the ongoing development of the order backlog and project pipeline. The order backlog now stands at 310 million euros (approx. 340 million USD) and has continued to grow. In addition to the nearly 500 Navy Seal boats already announced, the project pipeline also includes a tender for 1,000 vehicles for a Spanish customer, which will also be equipped with Steyr engines. Production is scheduled to begin in 2027. Furthermore, the KNDS framework contract, involving around 500 motor-generator units by 2034, will contribute to the long-term baseline utilization of Steyr Motors' production capacities.
