It is still six months until the opening of the SPS (Smart Production Solutions) trade fair from November 25 to 27, 2025, in Nuremberg. However, the organizers already report strong bookings: More than 900 exhibitors have confirmed, and 95 percent of the previous year's space is occupied. This suggests that the SPS will once again establish its role as a central industry meeting point for the automation world in 2025.

"Despite and precisely because of global and economic challenges, the SPS remains the most important trade fair for the automation industry. It is not only a platform for presenting the latest technologies and innovations but also a central meeting point for experts and decision-makers to form strategic partnerships and discuss solutions to current challenges. The fair promotes the exchange of knowledge and experiences, which is essential for the development and adaptation of the industry to changing market conditions," says Sylke Schulz-Metzner, Vice President SPS.

Four Forums For Dialogue Among Industry Players

The supporting program also focuses on current developments. In four trade fair forums – including the Forum on Digitalization, the Forum on Automation, the Forum on Sensors, and the Forum on AI – experts discuss topics such as artificial intelligence in automation, digital transformation, data spaces, or sensory innovations.

In addition to industry giants such as Siemens, Rockwell, Bosch Rexroth, SEW Eurodrive, Beckhoff Automation, Festo, and Phoenix Contact, numerous new exhibitors are also present. This mix, in particular, makes the SPS especially interesting for many visitors.

"To overcome economic challenges, the community must stick together and jointly develop new ideas and approaches. The SPS once again offers an ideal platform for this with an informative and inspiring supporting program," adds Schulz-Metzner.

SPS as a Year-Round Platform

Those who cannot or do not want to connect only at the trade fair will also find digital offerings under the SPS umbrella. The Automation Hub offers monthly Technology Talks, which take place as online events on the last Thursday of each month. The offering is complemented by SPS Insights — an online format with news, interviews, and trends from the industry. This makes SPS a year-round point of contact for professional exchange.

In July, the ticket shop for the SPS goes online and offers early bird discounts until mid-October. (mc)
