At Euroblech, Bonfiglioli presented its entire know-how in the development of complete systems for sheet metal processing.

The innovative systems that Bonfiglioli presented in Stuttgart/Germany for sheet metal processing combine both industrial and precision gearboxes with motors and servomotors up to IE5 as well as frequency inverters. Such products are often developed with the most important players in the industry. They are designed for light to heavy-duty applications. Six product packages were exhibited at the trade fair, all of which are intended for companies that form, process and handle sheet metal. Here are the packages in detail:

1. handling of ferrous and non-ferrous components

The first package developed for roller tables can be used to handle all types of ferrous and non-ferrous products during the transformation process or storage phase, Bonfiglioli says. It combines a planetary gearbox from the 300 series, which has a high overload capacity in the field and enables torque control. This is combined with a synchronous reluctance motor from the BSR series, which integrates precise sensor-free control, and a decentralized DGM inverter that is mounted directly on the geared motor. As the inverter is supplied directly with the geared motor, Bonfiglioli takes care of the mechanical installation, wiring and basic programming. This shortens installation times, reduces costs and complexity, they say. It also has a high degree of protection (in accordance with IP65). The whole thing therefore also works in harsh and dusty environments within the production line.

2. better storage and handling of semi-finished goods

The second exhibit in the innovation packages section was developed for handling and storage systems for semi-finished sheet metal products. It consists of a helical-bevel geared motor from the A series. In combination with a permanent magnet synchronous motor from the BMD series, the system is characterized by its compactness. The motor scores with a low moment of inertia and meets the highest demands in terms of precision, dynamics and speed. In addition, there is a next-generation ANG Active servo inverter. This includes a microcontroller that offers extended functions such as the "Cyclic Synchronous Positioning" mode through cubic interpolation, brake control and feedback contact evaluation. The new product is also equipped with Z and W sensors, the so-called IoT sensors, which support predictive maintenance and provide real-time data on vibrations and temperature, as Bonfiglioli notes.

3rd drive innovation for sheet metal bending

The third innovation in Bonfiglioli's six-pack is designed for bending sheet metal. It has been designed for heavy-duty applications and dynamic processes and, according to the manufacturer, consists of a 300 series planetary gearbox with a hydraulic drive configuration. It can be adapted to all customer requirements for hydraulic motors. It therefore reflects Bonfiglioli's broad spectrum of systems, ranging from electronics and hydraulics to mechatronics and mechanics.
