Rolls-Royce raises profit forecast thanks to strong half-year

The Rolls-Royce management now expects an adjusted operating profit of 4.7 to 4.9 billion British pounds (5.4 to 5.72 billion euros / $5.8 to $6.1 billion), as the company from London announced. Previously, the forecast was between 4 and 4.2 billion pounds (4.91 billion euros / $5.2 billion). Free cash flow is expected to be 233.6 million euros (approx. $250 million) higher at both ends of the range, reaching 4.44 to 4.67 billion euros (approx. $4.7 to $5.0 billion), compared to initial projections. The forecast increase comes against the backdrop of a strong first half of the year, during which demand for jet engines provided significant tailwinds.

Nearly Three Billion in Profit Under Its Own Power

Rolls-Royce generated nearly 13.2 billion euros (approx. $14.1 billion) in revenue on its own by the end of June, about a quarter more than in the same period last year. Of this, over 2.92 billion euros (approx. $3.1 billion), remained as adjusted operating profit, representing a 46 percent increase. Rolls-Royce primarily builds engines for long-haul jets but also benefits from a rise in European defense spending. Additionally, the almost unrelenting demand for the construction of data centers for artificial intelligence, for which the British products are in demand for energy supply, is contributing to the growth.
