Horn: New clamping Holder for the 229 System

With more than 25,000 standard items, Paul Horn GmbH includes the parting system 229 with various holder systems in its tool portfolio with numerous different variants. To provide users with better clarity, Horn combines the features of various holders into one. The new clamping holder combines two coolant connections. The connection is made either via a transfer at the contact surface or screwed via a lateral thread. The internal coolant supply reaches directly to the cutting edge via the clamping finger and is directed precisely onto the clearance face through a borehole. This enables high cutting performances.

Horn offers the tool holder in a compact design as a square shank in dimensions 16 mm × 16 mm, 20 mm × 20 mm (approx. 0,63 inches × 0,78 inches × 0,78 inches), and 25 mm × 25 mm (approx. 0,98 inches × 0,98 inches). All holder sizes are available from stock for cutting widths of 3.0 mm (approx. 0,12 inches), 4.0 mm (approx. 0,16 inches), and 5.0 (approx. 0,22 inches) and 6.0 mm (approx. 0,23 inches), as well as 8.0 mm (approx. 0,31 inches). The cutting depth does not depend on the diameter of the clamping holder. The tool shanks are made from high-strength steel, allowing for high precision of the insert seat and system durability.
