Hopefully, all of us are familiar with Skynet, the AI that became self-aware and declared war on humanity in the Terminator films. The cult film series is definitely not just in the back of my mind when it comes to the presumed superiority of AI, its takeover, and other apocalyptic scenarios. The film recently came to mind again with full force as I read the latest news from OpenAI's labs.
