The turnkey solution includes state-of-the-art processing and testing lines for the production of railway wheels and consists, among other things, of machines from FFG brands MAG and HESSAPP, as well as supplementary equipment. The state-of-the-art facility will be installed at the RKTR plant in Chennai and is designed for an annual production of 100,000 railway wheels. Six different types of wheels can be manufactured without changeover times. The manufacturing system is future-oriented from the start and designed for double the production volume. For precise planning and rapid commissioning, FFG uses a digital equipment twin and extensive 3D simulations. The energy consumption calculated in advance for various production scenarios supports climate-friendly manufacturing.

MAG SPECHT 800 horizontal machining centers and HESSAPP VDM 1600 vertical lathes are used, along with automation solutions for the machining cell and test cell, a balancing station, ultrasonic testing stations, and two magnetic particle testing stations. A standout feature of the centrally controlled production system is the comprehensive monitoring of the entire system and exact tracking of components. This ensures the highest quality standards for the manufactured wheels.
