The Drives of the BMW X5 and iX5

The powertrain lineup includes a 230 kW/313 hp inline six-cylinder diesel in the X5 40d. The petrol counterpart, the X5 40, delivers 294 kW/400 hp. The plug-in hybrids generate 360 kW/489 hp and 450 kW/612 hp, offering an electric range of more than 100 kilometers. The fully electric iX5 60 xDrive delivers 425 kW. Its 141-kWh battery claims a range of up to 845 kilometers (approx. 525 miles, with charging at up to 460 kW.

Prices start at around 95,000 euros (approx. $102,000) for the X5 40d. The plug-in hybrid X5 50 and the iX5 60 start at just over 100,000 euros (approx. $107,500). The top model is the performance hybrid M60e with over 600 hp at a price of 125,000 euros (approx. $134,000).
