Software-Defined Vehicles Why zonal E/E architectures Require New Connection Concepts
Zonal E/E architectures simplify vehicles at the system level but at the same time present developers with significantly more complex physical challenges. This guest contribution describes what those challenges are.
Software-defined vehicles (SDVs) are considered the blueprint for the next generation of vehicles. Functions can be scaled via software, computing power centralized, and hardware platforms used across multiple model cycles. The focus is often on software stacks, middleware, and high-performance computers. However, in practice, it becomes clear that the scalability of software-defined vehicle architectures is no longer determined primarily by the software.
