Being big isn't enough for Zeekr—the XXL SUV 9X is designed for excess. It is now confirmed: The plug-in hybrid model, which drives over 200 kilometers purely electrically, is also coming to Germany.

The automotive brand Zeekr, officially entering the German market at the end of 2025, ventures into the upper-class segment dominated by German manufacturers with its plug-in hybrid SUV 9X. The 5.24-meter-long (approx. 17.2 ft) and over two-meter-wide (approx. 6.6 ft) Chinese vehicle is, in almost every respect, the opposite of modest. Zeekr officially refers to it as a market launch; however, customers can initially only configure the vehicle online and express their specific interest in purchasing it. The presumably six-figure price will be announced by the manufacturer at a later date.

There is no other option for the drivetrain version than the "Ultra AWD." The primary drive is handled by two electric motors on the front and rear axles. They are complemented by a two-liter turbo gasoline engine, which primarily powers a generator. The system output is 660 kW/897 hp. This enables the approximately three-ton SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph).

Plug-In Hybrid with Fast Charging Technology

For the electric drive, Zeekr relies on a 900-volt architecture and a 55-kWh battery. The purely electric range is approximately 220 kilometers (approx. 137 miles). At a hypercharger, the plug-in hybrid benefits from its high-voltage technology: charging from 10 to 80 percent is said to take less than ten minutes. Combined with the gasoline tank, this results in a total range of up to 760 kilometers (approx. 472 miles).

The prestigiously staged colossus focuses on an overtly luxurious interior. Six individual seats are distributed across three rows. The two armchairs in the middle row allow the backrest to recline far back, with the option to stretch and elevate the legs. At the push of a button, privacy blinds close, and dimmed ambient lighting creates a lounge atmosphere. Between the two rear seats, there is a cooling and warming compartment, with its temperature automatically adjusting to different types of beverages.

The roof lining incorporates a movable 17-inch OLED display that can adjust to the viewing angle of seated or reclining passengers. A 32-speaker audio system provides the perfect sound, while a noise-canceling system reduces external noise. Media functions, climate control, and additional comfort settings can be controlled from the rear using a removable touchscreen. Nappa leather, hand-polished wood inlays, a microfiber roof lining, and a crystal glass rotary controller emphasize the luxurious appeal.

In the front, the driver and passenger sit on climate-controlled seats. The driver faces a digital cockpit with a 13-inch instrument cluster and a central 16-inch OLED touchscreen. The system is complemented by a 47-inch augmented reality head-up display that projects information directly onto the windshield.

The suspension also promises travel comfort. An electronically controlled damping system works in conjunction with a dual-chamber air suspension to largely smooth out uneven surfaces. Despite its luxurious aspirations, the 9X aims to remain practical for everyday use. The trunk volume expands from nearly 680 (approx. 24.0 cu ft)  to up to 2,150 liters (approx. 75.9 cu ft)when the rear seatbacks are folded down. Additionally, it offers a towing capacity of up to two tons (approx. 4,400 lbs).
