What does sustainable fluid technology look like?

When combining a hydraulic pump with an electric motor that runs at variable speed, there can be problems with the lubricating film at low speeds. For this reason, lead-containing bronze parts are often installed in the pumps. However, the problem could probably also be solved by the geometry of the slipper shoes. In particular, the step shape seems to have potential, as a paper by Svenja Horn and other authors published in the IFK proceedings shows.
