Siemens has announced "Intelligence Center X," an industrial AI orchestration platform designed to transition the use of artificial intelligence in production from pilot projects to scalable operations. The goal is to closely link AI applications with real processes and thereby create measurable added value.

The Intelligence Center X software connects data, models, and workflows on a unified foundation, enabling the development and operation of AI applications with end-to-end traceability and governance. Technologically, Intelligence Center X combines the Mendix low-code platform with components such as Graph Studio and AI Studio from the RapidMiner portfolio. This allows the creation of company-specific data contexts, known as knowledge graphs, as well as AI-powered applications and agents.

Challenge Scaling

The background is a typical challenge in the industry: many companies have already invested in AI but fail at scaling. Causes include fragmented data landscapes, lack of integration into existing processes, and insufficient governance. Intelligence Center X addresses this precisely by integrating AI into existing IT and OT structures.

Initial applications demonstrate concrete effects: for example, glass manufacturer Vivix links various data sources—including SAP S/4HANA, Siemens Industrial Edge, and Snowflake—and has thus been able to significantly reduce production times and greatly minimize manual efforts. AI-powered assistance systems also support the analysis of quality deviations and accelerate decision-making processes in operations.

Bringing Together Data from Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Service

The platform is designed to merge data from engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and service into a unified context and make it usable. On this basis, AI-powered workflows can be implemented along the entire value chain. Intelligence Center X is part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio and can be integrated into existing system landscapes. The solution supports various use cases—from extending existing Siemens applications to being used as a standalone platform for data-driven production and business processes. This creates a seamless data and AI foundation that enables smarter automation processes, data-driven decision-making, and more efficient industrial operations.

Intelligence Center X is designed to connect industrial data from engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and service into a shared lifecycle intelligence that AI can respond to.

Three Deployment Models

Intelligence Center X is implemented in three patterns: layering on Siemens AI products to enhance lifecycle intelligence with unconventional industrial ontologies; as a standalone platform for asset-intensive organizations operating other OT providers; or as a pure agent platform for financial services, insurance, healthcare, government, and retail organizations that require production-ready AI execution with full auditability.
