Update Polestar 3 Gets 800-volt System

The automaker has given the Polestar 3 a comprehensive update. From the outside, this is not noticeable, but under the hood, almost a paradigm shift has occurred.
Just two years ago, former Polestar CTO Lutz Stiegler classified 800-volt technology as marketing hype in an interview with the magazine "Edison." Now, the Swedish manufacturer, part of the Chinese Geely Group, has upgraded the Polestar 3 with an 800-volt on-board network – sometimes things can change quickly. The reason for the earlier assessment was partly because Polestar's charging network partner Tesla had already installed very powerful 400-volt Superchargers. Therefore, Polestar at that time decided against equipping its cars with expensive high-voltage systems compatible with 800-volt technology.
