Mutares has reportedly received an irrevocable offer for the purchase of Walor Precision Turning from Reed Capital. The transaction is expected to close as early as this summer, subject to the approval of employee representatives and other customary closing conditions. The machining specialist Walor Precision Turning currently operates three production sites. These are in Legé (France), in Sfântu Gheorghe (Romania) and in Irapuato (Mexico). The company is a leading supplier of high-precision metal components for passive safety systems used in the automotive industry—in particular for seat belt tensioners and airbag gas generators. The turned parts specialist has also successfully diversified into high-growth markets such as semi-active chassis and components for data centers. Turnover of around $65 million is forecast for 2025. Around 420 people are employed at the three locations.

Reed Capital Seems to Be the Right New Owner

During the investment period, Mutares supported the operational performance improvement of the Walor Group, while securing its commercial success and strengthening the company's international presence in Europe and North America, it is understood. The sale reflects Mutares' disciplined approach to value creation through operational repositioning and targeted divestitures. The sale of Walor Precision Turning marks another successful step in the implementation of Mutares' strategy to actively manage the automotive portfolio and gradually reduce its weighting within the overall portfolio. Reed Capital is therefore well positioned to further expand the Walor Group's strong market position. Reed Capital notes that Walor is exactly what it is currently looking for: Industrial expertise, a strong customer base, experienced management and many opportunities for diversification for future business activities.
