Marcus Ekman, 51, will become the new Head of Development at Mercedes-Benz Trucks on October 1. He succeeds Rainer Müller-Finkeldei, 56, who has decided to retire at the end of July 2026 after more than three decades at Daimler AG and Daimler Truck AG. Marcus Ekman has more than 25 years of international management experience in commercial vehicle development, product development and quality management. He is currently Senior Vice President Truck Quality at the Volvo Group. In various positions at Volvo, he has been responsible for total vehicle development - from validation and modularization to quality management and industrialization - within global development organizations. Ekman holds an MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Luleå University of Technology in Sweden.
