The 2024/2025 financial year was a successful one for Knapp AG. With an increase in turnover of around 10% to 1.98 billion euros (approx. 2.31 billion USD) and incoming orders of 2.13 billion euros (approx. 2.49 billion USD), the Austrian technology company achieved its strongest result to date. Knapp is now planning investments in processes, organization and the technology portfolio. One of the key innovations is the new "Aerobot" storage system. The broad warehouse portfolio makes Knapp a leading value chain tech partner in the industry.

Partnership and Process Expertise

"No two business cases are the same - the differences always lie in the process, never in the technology," explains Knapp COO Franz Mathi. This understanding enables customized, maintenance-friendly systems. Customers such as the Australian supermarket chain Woolworth, the US retail group Walmart, the sporting goods manufacturer Asics and the German logistics company Arvato underline Knapp's understanding of solutions.

IT security is an integral part of the networking of all processes. "Our customers can rely on us not only to deliver high-performance systems, but also to support them for decades to come. We see ourselves as a long-term partner. We take a holistic approach to processes in order to create solutions that not only meet today's requirements, but will also endure in the future," emphasizes Knapp CEO Gerald Hofer.

Innovation as a Driver

Knapp has launched the new bot-based storage system "Aerobot". As a combined storage and picking solution, the system is particularly suitable for small to medium-sized applications and won the Best Product Award at this year's Logimat, the leading trade fair for intralogistics. "The "Aerobot" system is another milestone in our history of innovation. Like every product development, the Aerobot is the result of current customer needs," says Hofer.

At the same time, the existing shuttle portfolio in the area of highly dynamic storage was expanded to include faster lift systems and deep-freeze applications. Knapp was also able to further expand its market position in the area of pallet solutions with a smart mix of storage and retrieval machines, AMR, conveyor technology and de-/palletizing solutions. Knapp has also greatly expanded its expertise in the high-performance sorter segment. Most recently, Knapp has also set innovative standards in its digital solutions portfolio. With the new Kisoft Delivery Solution software, Knapp is optimizing transport logistics over the last mile.

Globally Successful, Regionally Rooted

Knapp is strengthening its presence in the core sectors of healthcare, fashion, food, retail, wholesale and industry. With 8,300 employees worldwide, including 4,300 in Austria, the demand for automation solutions is growing. In Europe, the group of companies recorded the commissioning of an omnichannel automation solution for the Douglas Group in Germany. The consolidation of 6 warehouses into one central warehouse involves the smart networking of a large number of integrated technologies. The 2D shuttle solution is considered to be the largest in the cosmetics sector worldwide and offers maximum flexibility and storage density. In the USA, important projects were implemented in the healthcare sector. In Latin America, customers such as Falabella, Lojas Renner and Cencosud rely on the cooperation with Knapp. Investments of around 100 million euros in innovation and 80 million euros (approx. 94 million USD) in organization and infrastructure support the future orientation.
