Caruso, a subsidiary of Tec Alliance, integrates Hyundai vehicle data into its Dataplace platform. With prior authorization, repair shop platforms, fleet managers, insurers, and mobility service providers can access standardized information via an API. The integration requires no additional hardware in the vehicle. Instead, a programming interface aggregates the telematics data and makes it available to service providers.

According to Hyundai Connected Mobility, more than 1.5 million of the brand’s connected vehicles across Europe generate relevant data. The information is available in 43 countries. Depending on the model year and connectivity generation, more than 80 data points may be available. A wide range of vehicles is supported, covering both the traditional internal combustion engine fleet and the electric model lineup. The list of models from which data can be retrieved ranges from the compact cars i10, i20, i30, Bayon and Inster on the Tucson SUV and vans, Santa Fe, Staria, and Kona, all the way to hydrogen-powered cars Nexo and the all-electric Ioniq series.

Schedule Maintenance

The information available includes mileage, location, warning lights, and the status of doors and the ignition. Additional data includes fuel level, battery charge level, remaining range, charging port status, and tire pressure. Diagnostic trouble codes can also be retrieved via the interface. Repair shop platforms and service networks can use this information to identify maintenance needs and target customers with tailored messages. Whether all of the listed values are available depends on the specific vehicle and its technical features.

Access requires explicit authorization. For fleets, owners or operators grant authorization for the vehicles under their management. According to Caruso, no vehicle data is shared with service providers without the appropriate consent.
