The map service provider Here Technologies is joining the industry initiative Soafee (Scalable Open Architecture for Embedded Edge). This was announced by the company. Soafee is a cross-industry initiative that brings together car manufacturers, suppliers and technology groups to establish a standardized, open and cloud-native architecture for software-defined vehicles (SDV).

As part of the accession, Here will become a direct member of Soafee's technical steering committee. There, the company plans to contribute its expertise in the areas of AI-supported mapping and location intelligence to the development of open frameworks. The aim is to make it easier and seamless to integrate maps, geodata and location-based real-time services into new vehicle software stacks in the future.

Prototyping to Be Significantly Accelerated

Soafee's open governance model aims to contribute to rapid prototyping, simplified integration and collaborative innovation across the SDV ecosystem. The company looks forward to contributing its live map, dynamic data pipelines and sensor fusion capabilities to help the industry develop scalable and interoperable SDV platforms.
