Fiat and the Governorate of the Vatican City State have entered into a partnership to further expand sustainable mobility within the world's smallest state. The collaboration focuses on providing a specially equipped fleet of 30 fully electric vehicles. The fleet includes the Fiat Topolino and the electric Fiat TRIS, enabling the Governorate's employees to move efficiently and emission-free during their daily duties.

Contribution to the Environmental strategy "Ecological Conversion 2030"

With the new electric fleet, Fiat supports the "Ecological Conversion 2030" program initiated by the Vatican. The goal of the initiative is to consistently reduce the CO₂ emissions of the state vehicle fleet and achieve a fully emission-free vehicle stock by the end of the decade.

The collaboration also aligns with Fiat's long-term strategy to make urban mobility more sustainable through innovative micromobility solutions. In addition to classic electric vehicles, the manufacturer is increasingly focusing on compact vehicles for urban use.

First Vehicles Officially Handed Over

The first 20 vehicles were handed over during a ceremonial event at the seat of the Governatorate. Attendees included Archbishop Emilio Nappa, lawyer Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, the secretary-generals of the Governatorate, and Olivier François, CEO of Fiat and Chief Marketing Officer of the Stellantis Group.

With the handover, the gradual introduction of the new electric fleet begins, which will support daily operations within the Vatican State in the future.

Fiat Presents the Future of Urban Mobility

The vehicle handover also marked the beginning of a larger event in Rome, where Fiat presented its strategy for the micro-mobility sector. The focus was on the further development of compact electric vehicles and new concepts for sustainable urban mobility. This underscores the brand's ambition to take a leading role in the growing segment of urban electromobility.
