The inadequate utilization or even loss of goods represents a significant annoyance for any industrial operation. This is often caused by outdated asset tracking systems. Innovations in the field of asset tracking solutions, such as the Evertag developed by Cargobeacon and Panasonic Industry, offer a powerful response to this issue.

The new developments enable high-resolution real-time monitoring through technologies such as GPS, RFID, and advanced sensors. These solutions improve operational efficiency, asset utilization, and loss prevention by providing detailed insights into the location, condition, and movement of assets across a company's entire portfolio.
For this reason, co-founders Olov Hisved and Daniel Lindberg developed Cargobeacon, the Swedish provider of advanced asset tracking and sensor solutions. Cargobeacon uses Panasonic Industry's effective Bluetooth module for Evertag, its AI-powered product line for asset tracking. "Our goal is to address the key challenges of industrial companies by transforming raw sensor data into valuable insights," says Hisved, CEO of Cargobeacon. "With advanced integrated sensors, our Evertag product line continuously monitors the movement, usage, and environmental conditions of assets, providing companies with live information they need to optimize their global operations."

The tags can be easily integrated into Wirepas Mesh, which provides reliable connectivity over long distances even under challenging conditions, such as those often found in warehouses, construction sites, or outdoor facilities.
A Step Beyond Conventional Asset Tracking
Evertag tags, however, go beyond conventional asset tracking by offering high-resolution data collection capabilities. By continuously capturing all critical sensor data, they help companies gain valuable insights for predictive maintenance, operational optimization, and AI-driven analytics.
Daniel Lindberg: “The choice of the PAN1780 module was crucial for the development of the Evertag tags.”
A core component of the Evertag tags is the PAN1780 Bluetooth 5.3 Low-Energy module from Panasonic Industry. The integration of the module was a critical decision in the development of Evertag. "The choice of the PAN1780 module was pivotal for the development of the Evertag tags," explains Daniel Lindberg, COO at Cargobeacon. "Its superior radio performance and long range ensure extremely stable connectivity, even in large industrial environments." Panasonic Industry's expertise in wireless communication technologies and the module's pre-certification in key global markets—including the USA, the EU, China, Japan, and Korea—significantly reduced regulatory hurdles and accelerated the market launch of Evertag. "It was the complete package of our PAN1780 Bluetooth module—the combination of performance, features, and price—that enabled Cargobeacon to efficiently and seamlessly develop its globally certified Evertag product line," comments Chetan Joshi, Lead Product Management IoT Devices at Panasonic Industry. "The global scalability and pre-certification of the PAN1780 module were crucial for us to quickly enter key markets without delays. Additionally, it provides the range and reliability we needed for our products," adds Hisved.
Designed for Performance And Simplicity
One of the standout features of Evertag is its output power of 8 decibel-milliwatts, enabling a range of up to 660 feet in line of sight. This significantly reduces the number of anchors required, lowering infrastructure costs and simplifying deployment in large industrial environments. This performance boost was made possible not only by the PAN1780 module but also through design support from Panasonic Industry. At their Customer Experience Center in Ottobrunn near Munich (Germany), Panasonic Industry engineers tested the actual antenna performance on Evertag prototypes and provided layout improvement suggestions. "Due to the small size of the Evertag tags, there were limitations in the ability to integrate the antenna alongside many other necessary components. However, thanks to the expertise of the engineers in our Ottobrunn lab, we were able to offer tailored solutions to optimize antenna efficiency despite the compact design," comments Joshi.
The Evertag devices are equipped with 1 megabyte of flash memory and 512 kilobytes of RAM, ensuring robust performance even under interference-prone and adaptive radio conditions. This means they provide reliable data collection and transmission, which is critical for industrial applications requiring continuous monitoring. Security is ensured through instant tamper detection, which alerts users to unauthorized access attempts, thereby protecting sensitive operational data. Deployment is also very straightforward: Evertag tags feature tool-free installation, replaceable CR2477 batteries, and a durable IP68-rated housing, making them long-lasting and maintenance-friendly even in harsh environments.
