Digital condition monitoring ensures reliable production processes and reduces unpredictable downtimes. The CMSVT38 CMSVT38 condition monitoring sensor from Kübler is a specially developed MEMS-based sensor. It can be used in a variety of ways in everyday industrial applications.

Predictive maintenance of machines and systems is becoming increasingly important in modern industrial applications. Condition monitoring sensors continuously record critical status parameters such as vibrations and temperatures as well as other process and status indicators. The data generated not only helps to detect faults at an early stage, but also makes an important contribution to automating previously manual, maintenance-intensive inspections. In addition, they are an essential component of modern, networked manufacturing processes and support the transition to highly automated production.
The CMSVT38 from Kübler is a specially developed MEMS-based sensor that fulfills these requirements in a compact, energy-efficient and easy-to-integrate component and can usefully supplement and complete systems. The main areas of application are mechanical and plant engineering, manufacturers and operators of motors and pumps as well as the process industry.

Reliably Detect Vibrations
The CMSVT38 is based on modern MEMS sensor technology and reliably records vibrations in three axes as well as temperature values. The recorded measurement data can be transmitted via the standardized IO-Link interface or displayed via a decentralized visualization tool, which enables intelligent analysis and monitoring of the system status.
Alternatively, the sensor can be operated in SIO mode, whereby two PNP/NPN switching outputs can be individually parameterized and directly connected. This enables immediate visualization and reaction to defined limit values even without complex control, for example via a signal light from Kübler.
The IO-Link interface of the condition monitoring sensor ensures universal integration into different condition monitoring concepts and Ethernet networks—regardless of control systems or fieldbus protocols. This saves time and costs during installation, parameterization and maintenance.
Precise And Reliable Monitoring
With three-axis vibration measurement (X, Y and Z axes) and temperature detection, the sensor provides detailed status information that helps to detect machine damage such as contamination, misalignment or imbalances caused by bearing defects, for example, at an early stage. The integrated option for process step recording also supports quality assurance in production.
Monitor Electric Motors in Conveyor Systems
The CMSVT shows its strengths particularly in the condition monitoring of electric motors, such as those used in conveyor systems. These motors are often in continuous operation and are therefore subject to mechanical loads that can lead to bearing damage or imbalances. If such a defect is not detected at an early stage, there is a risk of costly downtime. By mounting the sensor directly on the motor, vibrations in three axes and temperature values can be continuously recorded. The data obtained is transmitted to the control system via IO-Link, where warnings can be issued or automatic shutdowns triggered if limit values are exceeded. This increases system availability, allows maintenance to be planned and minimizes the risk of failure.
Ensuring Temperature Stability
The condition monitoring sensor also provides valuable services in building technology or the food industry, for example when using fans in cold stores. A failure of these components can have a serious impact on temperature stability and therefore on product quality. The sensor monitors both the vibration of the fan shaft and the contact temperature. In the event of imbalances or bearing damage, the sensor detects anomalies at an early stage and emits predefined switching signals in SIO mode, which, for example, activate signal lights such as the SL55. These provide immediate visual feedback—green in normal condition, yellow or red if the defined limit values are exceeded. At the same time, reserve fans can be activated automatically to maintain smooth operation.
