Representatives from Catena-X have signed a letter of intent to establish the Catena-X China Hub in Shanghai. The goal of this initiative is to engage the local automotive sector in joining the data platform.

As one of the world's largest automotive markets, China is not only a key supplier but also home to major manufacturers, according to a press release by Catena-X. By establishing a local presence, the initiative aims to promote global collaboration across all segments of the automotive industry. The Hub will act as a vital link to ensure seamless data exchange between companies worldwide, thereby enhancing transparency, efficiency, and compliance throughout the automotive supply chain.

Own Standard for China

Catena-X plans to focus on several key areas within its Shanghai Hub. It will play a central role in facilitating knowledge transfer and activating both local and global partners to ensure a sovereign international data exchange. Additionally, the Hub aims to ensure the seamless flow of data from Tier-X suppliers to manufacturers and, finally, to recyclers.

Another key objective for Catena-X is to promote the development of a unique standard in China, enabling local automotive companies to participate in the global ecosystem and help shape future standards. The Catena-X Hub will serve as a regional representation and a physical showroom for this initiative.
