As more electric vehicles exceed the original warranty period of their batteries, Battery X Metals from Vancouver, Canada, anticipates that the demand for solutions to extend battery life will continue to grow. Positive preliminary results from trials on rebalancing lithium-ion batteries can now also be announced. Improvements in estimated range have been achieved, as well as progress toward the accelerated market launch of the patented rebalancing platform. Below, Battery X reveals the three key highlights of their investigations.

Rebalancing Highlight Number 1:

The patented platform from Battery X Metals for rebalancing lithium-ion batteries has shown positive preliminary improvements in estimated range during performance tests with electric vehicles under real-world conditions. Reports indicate a maximum increase of approximately 255 kilometers (approx. 158 miles). This suggests a functional and sustainable restoration of battery capacity, advanced diagnostics, sustainability, and successful validation across multiple commercial and private electric vehicle platforms.

Rebalancing Highlight Number 2:

The company has also strengthened its intellectual property portfolio by completing its patent application under the International Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). This preserves priority rights while paving the way for patent protection in over 150 countries. At the same time, Battery X Metals has either completed or is actively advancing compatibility development for five strategic electric vehicle platforms. These include the Nissan Leaf, Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq, Chevrolet Volt, and the VMC 1200 electric truck.

Rebalancing Highlight Number 3:

Battery X Metals is accelerating commercialization by advancing an integrated diagnostic platform for electric vehicle batteries using an "On Board" diagnostic interface (OBD-II) and the ongoing development of its hardware and software ecosystem for the rebalancing device. The optimizations also include wireless connectivity, standardized battery condition reports, commercial hardware improvements, and initiatives to obtain Underwriters Laboratories certification (UL certification), thereby preparing the patented technology platform for rebalancing lithium-ion batteries for broader commercial use, as stated in conclusion.
