Interfaces Help with Digitization and Sustainable Actions

Over a third of the professional visitors are evidently eager to learn more about digitization and AI. "We see the added value of AI in processes where all possibilities for processing sensor data are utilized. AI is useful for that and improves quality in the factory," observed Jan Otoupakik, CEO of "4dot Mechatronics," a start-up from the Czech Republic. This was also reflected in the popularity of the P.O.P Talks, held daily for the first time on the centrally designed Innovation Stage, to explore various aspects of artificial intelligence and its possibilities for modern production. Automation, digitization, and AI thus contributed to increasing productivity, efficiency, and quality. This automatically also enhances sustainability in production, particularly when energy and material efficiency are advanced. Sustainability is also highly prioritized in research and among young talent. Professor Berend Denkena from Leibniz University Hannover explained: "We are working on various approaches. A very important example is reducing the energy demand of production systems—for instance, through coolant flow, where only as much medium as needed is applied, rather than as much as possible, as in the past." This approach could save up to 95 percent of pump energy, electrical energy, and up to 60 percent of the total energy demand of such a production system.

Executives Value the EMO Trade Fair as an Ideal Platform

Once again, the EMO has proven itself as a top platform for executives and buyers from around the world. In the visitor survey, over 50 percent of respondents stated that they belong to top or middle management. They also have decision-making authority for procurement, as noted by the VDW.

Overall, 93 percent of visitors achieved their goals, and 98 percent rated EMO as very good to satisfactory. This aligns with the judgment of the exhibitors. Irene Bader, board member at the German-Japanese company DMG Mori, commented: "What we presented at EMO 2025 is a glimpse into the future of manufacturing. The enthusiasm and valuable feedback once again showed us how important personal exchange is for true innovation." German Wankmiller, Chairman of the Management Board of Grob-Werke, added: "We are overall satisfied with the outcome of the 50th EMO. Despite the currently challenging market situation, the event positively surprised us!" The visitor turnout and the quality of discussions were consistently rated positively, providing key impulses to celebrate for the coming months.

(As always after two EMO fairs in Germany, the next edition will take place again in Milan. Specifically, as EMO Milano, which will be open from October 4 to 8, 2027.)
