Kern Microtechnik is presenting the Kern Fortis HD, a 5-axis machining center, at this year’s EMO in Hall 12, Stand D16, which aims to push boundaries and enable machining in new dimensions. With this, the company from Eschenlohe addresses the growing demand for large, high-precision 5-axis components. Trade fair visitors can experience the machine live in Hall 12, Stand D16. Additionally, Kern is showcasing the Micro HD+ designed for series production and the Femto E3 laser machining center.

On 160 square meters of booth space, Kern provides plenty of room for innovations. The new Kern Fortis HD is not only the centerpiece in terms of technology but also takes up the most space—measuring 4 meters in length (approx. 13 ft), 2.8 meters in width (approx. 9 ft), and 3.3 meters in height (approx. 11 ft). This makes it the largest machine Kern has ever developed. Managing Director Simon Eickholt reveals one key feature upfront:

The Fortis HD also achieves the accuracies of the Micro HD at this size, which can be experienced in our live demo at the exhibition booth. In our opinion, no other 5-axis machine has been able to achieve such results – even in series production – to date.
