Dry ice blasting for plate cleaning is eliminated

The development process of the C1 Max spanned about one and a half years, as AM Solutions states. During this time, data and components were repeatedly exchanged. Another important aspect was the optimal size of the system, which allows for the processing of a build volume of 750 x 750 x 550 millimeters (approx. 29,5 x 29,5 x 21,7 inches), enabling the handling of a complete build plate from the 3D Systems ProX 800 or the SLA 750. Another advantage is that the bare plates can simply be placed in the system overnight for cleaning. Previously, the approximately 25 plates were laboriously blasted with dry ice every Friday. Sauber can now use that space and time for other purposes. To be prepared for future printer versions, there are corresponding adapters to be able to adjust the machine. The C1 Max is an important step for Sauber Motorsport towards optimizing processes with regard to the demands of Formula 1, it is concluded.
