The introduction of artificial intelligence in industry presents companies with a central challenge: without modern network infrastructures, the potential of AI remains untapped. A recent study by NTT Data and Cisco ("Wired for Intelligence: A CIO Guide to Enterprise Networking for AI") has highlighted, according to a statement, how crucial powerful, secure, and low-latency networks are for the successful implementation of AI strategies.

More than 78 percent of the surveyed companies see network capabilities as a key criterion when selecting providers for Gen-AI infrastructures. Networks are required that can reliably handle scalable workloads, complex training and inference processes, as well as large storage clusters. At the same time, AI is making its way into network control itself—with automated configuration, anomaly detection, and self-healing functions for increased efficiency and security. This is creating new growth opportunities, particularly in industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services, it further states.

NTT Data supports with a comprehensive service portfolio—from strategic consulting to procurement and implementation to managed services. The focus is on software-defined infrastructure services, automation, and AI-driven operating models. Together with Cisco, the company aims to position itself as a partner that prepares businesses for the AI era.
