The demands on device connections are constantly increasing. High efficiency, low costs, and fast processes are more important today than ever. Weidmüller simplifies device connections by combining innovative connection technology with a comprehensive service portfolio.
Efficient connection technology: Weidmüller has integrated the SNAP IN technology into the Klippon Connect terminal blocks, the RockStar heavy-duty connectors, the Omnimate connectors, and the Push Pull Power connectors.

Conventional connection techniques such as screw or spring clamp terminals have been established in connection technology for years. However, the safe application of screw terminals requires precise torque control, while spring clamp terminals require both manual skill and a prepared conductor.
The connection technology SNAP IN developed by Weidmüller reduces this effort. The conductor is simply inserted into the connection point and snaps in with audible and tactile feedback, regardless of whether a ferrule is used or not. The protruding pusher after a completed connection is clearly visible.
SNAP IN: Easier And More Reliable Wiring

The connection is not only vibration-resistant but also gas-tight and permanently stable. Additionally, the connection can be made without tools, as well as the subsequent disconnection. By pressing the pusher, the clamping point can be re-tensioned at any time with minimal effort.
"With this technology, we achieve a new level of simplicity and reliability in wiring. Our customers particularly value the fast, secure process in any environment," explains René Arntzen, Head of Product Management Device Connectivity at Weidmüller.
Connection Technology "Ready to Robot"
The connection is designed as "ready to robot" and thus predestined for the control cabinet construction of the future. The connection technology enables wiring without time-consuming crimping, which not only increases efficiency but also enhances process reliability. Wiring can be automated using a robot, contributing to the automation of industrial manufacturing processes. This advantage is becoming increasingly significant, especially in times of skilled labor shortages.
The company has now integrated the SNAP-IN technology into the Klippon Connect series terminal blocks, the RockStar heavy-duty connectors, the Omnimate connector series, and the Push-Pull Power connectors, and plans to further expand the product portfolio.
Comprehensive Support Services for All Phases of the Product Lifecycle
In addition to connection technology, the family-owned company offers a comprehensive service portfolio that supports all phases of device development, from the idea to serial production.
The PCB Connector Services include digital tools that simplify the selection of suitable components, provide comprehensive technical data, and shorten development times and reduce development costs through practical recommendations.
The website provides a structured overview of the product range, current industry trends, and successfully implemented customer projects. Users gain access to compact product overviews in PDF format as well as well-founded whitepapers on key issues related to device connectivity.
Tailored Product Recommendations
The ConnectorGuide enables individually tailored product recommendations and efficient selection of suitable components for every application. Visual representations in the installed state and intuitive navigation complete the user experience.
Additionally, datasheets, CAD models, and EDA data are available for quick download via direct links. Design-in samples can also be requested free of charge. This significantly speeds up the selection and procurement process and helps reduce development costs.
Efficient Integration into the Development Process

Engineering data, technical details, and expert advice facilitate the entire development process. Customers are supported from planning to implementation, for example, with information on air and creepage distances or assistance with certification.
Supplementary tools are available specifically for manufacturing planners, such as an online calculator for a comprehensive view of total cost of ownership (TCO) as well as recommendations for automated PCB assembly. The aim is to make the integration of connection technology into existing manufacturing processes as efficient and user-friendly as possible.
Scalable Solutions for Modern Device Generations
Device construction is evolving toward compact, powerful, and cost-effective systems. To meet these demands, Weidmüller provides a modular portfolio of PCB connectors, enabling application-specific solutions for various use cases.
The Omnimate product portfolio stands out for its high flexibility and seamless integration into advanced production techniques, such as the SNAP-IN connection. The components are designed for modern manufacturing methods like THR or SMD and can be fully automated. This simultaneously reduces production effort and production costs. (kr)
